Re Transitions From LayerZero
to Chainlink CCIP
Expanding reUSD Distribution

Following an internal evaluation of cross-chain infrastructure, Re is migrating from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive bridging infrastructure to power the expansion of reUSD across the multi-chain ecosystem.

The most secure cross-chain solution.

Today we’re sharing that Re, the leading onchain reinsurance protocol with $475+ million TVL, has conducted an internal cross-chain infrastructure evaluation and is now migrating from LayerZero to the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) as our exclusive bridging solution for our $160+ million market cap depository token, reUSD. Chainlink CCIP is accelerating the secure adoption of reUSD across the broader multi-chain DeFi ecosystem.

We decided to upgrade to Chainlink CCIP because it provides the highest level of cross-chain security in the industry:

Secure by Default
CCIP utilizes Decentralized Oracle Networks (DONs) by default, ensuring the strongest baseline security is maintained at the protocol level rather than pushing the burden onto the asset issuer.
Redundant Validation
Each CCIP bridge lane is secured by 16 independent, security-reviewed node operators, ensuring redundant validation for every transaction.
Built-in Risk Controls
CCIP includes native rate limits that act as circuit breakers to prevent widespread contagion in worst-case scenarios.
Institutional-Grade Security
CCIP has achieved a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation, meaning every reUSD transfer benefits from the same security standards required by the world’s largest financial institutions.

How Re picks infrastructure.

At Re, we’re building reUSD to be the most reliable, composable yield-bearing stablecoin in DeFi. Getting there means having infrastructure to match, and that starts with cross-chain security. Capital coming in deserves infrastructure that holds up to institutional scrutiny. Capital going out, including in moments of stress, deserves the same.

That standard shapes how Re evaluates technology partners. Speed of integration is not the metric that wins. Track record, security model, audit history, transparent operations, and willingness to grow alongside the protocol all weigh more heavily. We would rather move deliberately and choose well than move quickly and rebuild later.

Cross-chain bridging sits among the decisions where that discipline matters most. For an asset that represents real-world risk capital backing a licensed reinsurer, the bar for any bridging partner is genuinely high, and we take time to understand each option on its own merits.

“Chainlink has been a foundational technology provider powering Re from the beginning. It is an obvious choice to upgrade to Chainlink and secure the expansion of reUSD across chains.”
— Cliff White, VP of Engineering, Re
“We’re excited to support Re as it upgrades to Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure to expand reUSD across chains. This highlights a broader industry shift where leading protocols adopt Chainlink exclusively to provide the uncompromising security necessary to scale stablecoins across the multi-chain ecosystem.”
— Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer, Chainlink Labs

About Re

Re is the onchain protocol connecting real-world reinsurance capital with decentralized finance. Its flagship product, reUSD, is a deposit token issued by Resilience Foundation Cayman LLC and made available to non-U.S. persons in specific geographies. The Re ecosystem brings together the onchain “re” protocol at re.xyz, operated by Resilience Foundation Cayman LLC, with the regulated reinsurance business under the “Cover Re” brand at coverre.com, operated by Cover Reinsurance SPC Ltd. — a Cayman Islands Class B(iii) licensed exempted segregated portfolio company. Resilience Foundation, Resilience (BVI) Ltd, and Resilience Inv SPC do not provide insurance or reinsurance services and do not hold an insurance license. Learn more at re.xyz.

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and the market leader powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.

Many of the world’s largest financial services institutions have also adopted Chainlink’s standards and infrastructure, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, S&P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell, WisdomTree, ANZ, and top protocols such as Aave, Lido, GMX, and many others. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve. Learn more at chain.link.
